A Martinican rum brand with an international outlook

Founded at the end of 2022 and based in Le Marin, in the south of Martinique, Braud & Quennesson has quickly established itself as an ambitious and demanding rum brand. In just three years, the company has grown to more than 25 employees and distributes its products in over a dozen countries: the United States, mainland France, French Guiana, Guadeloupe, and several European markets.

With such rapid growth, the need to digitalize operations quickly became clear. How do you manage inventory spread across multiple territories? How do you ensure rigorous traceability for alcoholic products subject to customs regulations? And how do you anticipate the upcoming mandatory e-invoicing requirements?

The answer: Odoo, deployed by Nalios.

Why Nalios? A methodology focused on autonomy

"We chose to work with Nalios to implement Odoo, notably because of their methodology, which seemed best suited to our needs."

> Lise Carlier, Cellar Master & Production Manager

What made the difference was Nalios’ approach: a single point of contact on each side, a direct and trust-based relationship, and a philosophy focused on client autonomy. The goal was not to create dependency on the integrator, but to enable Braud & Quennesson’s teams to manage their Odoo solution independently.

Concretely, this resulted in:

  • Maximum use of standard Odoo to limit custom developments
  • Strong team involvement in building the solution
  • A Nalios project manager supporting the implementation end-to-end, until the client team was “almost able to manage the software on their own”

Tangible results: traceability, inventory, and customs compliance

Full traceability of production batches

"This traceability is a real asset in case of an issue."

> Charles Terrel, Sales Director

For a rum producer, traceability is not a luxury—it is a regulatory requirement and a quality guarantee. Odoo now allows Braud & Quennesson to track each production batch from bottling to the reseller or distributor, including exact dates and destinations.

In case of an incident, intervention can be quick and precise—a critical requirement when dealing with alcoholic products released for consumption.

Real-time multi-site inventory management

The company holds inventory across several locations: the Marin factory, French Guiana, mainland France, and Guadeloupe. Before Odoo, this geographical dispersion was a major challenge.

Today :

  • Bottle quantities, references, and batch numbers are available in real time for each location
  • Customs declarations can be completed almost in one click thanks to consolidated stock visibility
  • Bulk stock (rum in barrels) is also tracked: a simple barrel number allows retrieval of its contents and full history

Ready for mandatory e-invoicing

"Odoo provided us with a solution for upcoming mandatory e-invoicing. We’re already ready for it."

Charles Terrel, Sales Ddirector

The e-invoicing reform is a major concern for many companies. Braud & Quennesson is already prepared. Thanks to Odoo, automated electronic invoice sending is already operational.

Key takeaways from the team

"Time savings—it has streamlined operations. Our traceability is much more structured."

"In one sentence, I’d say it’s very versatile. It can truly adapt to any field of expertise."

> Lise Carlier, Cellar Master & Production Manager

What this success story teaches us

The Braud & Quennesson case perfectly illustrates the value of a well-executed Odoo implementation:

  1. Standardization before customization — using Odoo natively ensures maintainability and reduces costs
  2. Autonomy as a goal — a good integrator trains clients instead of making them dependent
  3. A single point of contact — for smooth and efficient collaboration
  4. Built-in regulatory compliance — customs traceability and e-invoicing are natively supported
