The Different Views

"Kanban" View

The Kanban view in Odoo is a visual and simple way to organize and track tasks or work items in the form of cards, like a board. Each card represents an item, and the cards are organized into columns representing different stages or statuses of the process (e.g., "To Do", "In Progress", "Done").

This allows you to track the progress of tasks in an intuitive way and make updates by moving the cards from one column to another, which makes project and workflow management smoother. It's a highly visual tool widely used for managing projects and processes in Odoo.

"List" View

The List view in Odoo is a presentation of data in table format, where each row represents an item (such as an order, invoice, or customer) and each column shows a specific piece of information about that item (e.g., the customer name, invoice amount, or order date).

It's a very practical view for quickly visualizing a large number of records and allows you to sort, filter, or search for items easily. For example, if you want to view all invoices from a client or sort orders by date, the List view helps you do this clearly and in an organized manner. It’s ideal for tasks where you need to manage or analyze large datasets in detail.

"Gantt" View

The Gantt view in Odoo is a visual tool for managing projects and tasks in a chronological order. It displays tasks as horizontal bars on a chart, where each bar represents a task and its length shows the duration of the task. The tasks are organized by column (usually by project or responsible person) and placed on a timeline (days, weeks, months).

This allows you to track project progress, see dependencies between tasks (if one task needs to start after another), and easily reorganize tasks by dragging them on the chart. The Gantt view is very useful for having an overview of a project's schedule and for ensuring deadlines and resources are tracked effectively.

"Calendar" View

The Calendar view in Odoo is a tool that allows you to visualize and manage events, appointments, or tasks in a calendar format. It displays items on a grid of dates (day, week, month), making it easy to see schedules and availability.

Each event or task appears as a block on the calendar, and you can easily add, modify, or move items based on your needs. It's a convenient view for managing your schedule and your team’s schedule in a centralized way.

"Activity" View

The Activity view in Odoo allows you to track and manage actions to be done for each record (like a customer, order, or project). It is used to schedule reminders, tasks, or specific actions related to an item and works somewhat like a to-do list.

In this view, you can see all scheduled activities such as phone calls, meetings, or tasks to complete. Each activity can have a due date, a status (e.g., "To Do", "In Progress", "Completed"), and a responsible person.

This helps you maintain an overview of upcoming actions, ensure effective task follow-up, and not forget anything. For example, if you need to call a client or send an email to a prospect, the Activity view helps you track those actions and stay organized.
