Beer, a Belgian culture

When implementing Odoo in breweries founded in 1784 and 1873, one quickly learns that tradition has its own rules.
Since 2016, the culture of beer in Belgium has been listed as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. At Nalios, we support historic Belgian breweries in their transition to Odoo, with everything the profession entails: excise duties, bonded stock, deposits, sales through wholesalers, and EDI with large distribution. Our American team is now bringing this experience to breweries in the United States.

Client case

Brasserie St-Feuillien : excises under control

Founded in 1873 in Rœulx and run by the fifth generation of the Friart family, Brasserie St-Feuillien produces abbey beers and signature creations like Grand Cru and Saison, exported as far as the United States.

Excises, tax stock and e-AD
Excise duties are calculated automatically on each sale, and the stock under suspension of duties is tracked separately. The e-ADs are generated from a delivery note or an invoice, with automatic retrieval of the official reference number.
EDI with large distribution
Orders and invoices are exchanged automatically with the distribution chains, without re-entry.
Automated drainings

Returns of drainings automatically generate the corresponding credit notes. One repetitive task less for the accounting team.

Frequently asked questions

Not by default, but it is one of our areas of expertise. We have set up excise engines in Odoo for several breweries: automatic calculation on sales, tax stock, and regulatory documents.

Federal and state reports are not native in Odoo. We start from the same logic as our European excise engines, and we analyze your obligations during the scoping to define what needs to be configured or developed.

Yes. Reusable packaging can be tracked as full items, and each keg can receive a serial number to know at any time which customer it is with.

Yes, through the bill of materials in the Manufacturing module: each beer has its recipe, its ingredients, and its packaging formats, and each brew creates its own batches.

Yes. Our generic EDI connector exchanges orders, shipping notices, and invoices with your business partners.

In phases. At Saint-Feuillien, we started with the CRM, then sales and accounting, then purchasing and inventory, so that each step is stabilized before the next.
