After OXP 2026: Odoo 20, new pricing grid and heading for 2027
Sophie Dumont (sdu)

Three days at Brussels Expo, a new version and a pricing grid that changes for the first time since 2022. Behind impressive growth figures, Odoo Experience 2026 poses three concrete questions to companies already on Odoo, or considering it: when to migrate, how to frame an AI that now writes in your data, and what the new pricing changes for your 2027 budget.

From September 24 to 26, Odoo gathered its annual audience in Brussels around more than 450 conferences and over 400 exhibitors. We were there, at our stand E4 in Hall 6, with consultants from the entire Nalios network. Odoo published its own report on the event. We offer you another perspective, that of an integrator who will deploy these innovations at their clients in the coming months.

You will find here what really changes in Odoo 20, what is not visible in the demonstration, the payroll project announced for 2027, the clients affected by the price increase, and our migration recommendation based on the version you are using today.

01Odoo in 2026: a publisher that is scaling up

The figures presented in Brussels are those of a company that has moved out of the challenger category.

Indicator What Odoo has announced
RevenueApproximately 900 million euros expected in 2026, an increase of +45%, compared to 620 million in 2025
ObjectiveOne billion euros in revenue by 2027, with an estimated valuation of 10 billion
EmployeesMore than 7,500 today, targeting 10,000 by 2027 with approximately 3,500 recruitments over twelve months
LocationsTwo new subsidiaries in the first half, in the Philippines and France

Why do these figures concern you? A publisher growing at 45% per year is investing heavily in its product, and thus evolving it quickly. Each annual version brings its share of new features, and each new version phases out an old one from support.Choosing Odoo means accepting this pace, and planning from the start how you will keep up.

02Odoo 20: what really changes

1 · An AI that no longer just suggests

This is the breakthrough of this version. In Odoo 19, the AI agent recommended and a human validated. In Odoo 20, the agent creates and updates records, and it can be triggered by automated or scheduled actions. An order email arrives: the agent creates the purchase order, sends the confirmation to the client, and alerts you to the file for review.

Second new feature, a MCP connector (Model Context Protocol, a standard that allows connecting an external AI assistant to software) allows you to connect the AI of your choice to your Odoo database, while respecting the existing user access rights.

A budget point to anticipate: AI features consume IAP credits, the integrated paid services of Odoo. With extensive use of agents, this line should appear in your recurring costs rather than discovering it on an invoice.

2 · The new features that will resonate with businesses

  • Production : continuous production starts the next operation as soon as part of the quantity is ready, and a Kanban view groups manufacturing orders by week.
  • Logistics : replenishment rules suggest minimum and maximum thresholds calculated based on historical demand, and the CMR waybill is generated from the delivery for international road shipments.
  • Field teams : an offline mode allows you to view, modify, and create records without a connection, and the Field Service integrates with the Planning application. A real change for the businesses we support on our on-site service ERP projects.

Odoo finally announces 13 new industry packs, including equipment rental, catering, viticulture, and public institutions. The complete details are in the official release notes of Odoo 20.

3 · What is not visible in the demo, but is paid for in migration

A part of Odoo 20 is invisible to the user and crucial for your project. Several mechanisms of the core have been revamped: the registration rules disappear in favor of a domain directly based on access rights, the tracking of changes in the chatter is rebuilt, account groups give way to parent accounts, and payment statuses are renamed.

Specifically, each specific development that defines its own rights or reads the history of fields must be reviewed. On a base loaded with specifics, it is this project that will determine the cost of migration, much more than the functional novelties.

💡 The Nalios perspective

The real novelty of Odoo 20 is not AI, it is what it demands from you. An agent that writes in your data amplifies the quality of your configuration: with proper rights and clean data, it saves you hours; with approximate rights, it produces errors faster than a human.

Before activating any agent, audit your access rights. Odoo 20 is revamping them anyway: this is the moment.

03HR and payroll: the major project announced for 2027

Odoo has a clear ambition: to make its HR and payroll suite a strong point of 2027. In Belgium, it relies on the partnership announced in April with Partena Professional, whose payroll engine is to be integrated into the platform. Odoo 20 already brings several developments to Belgian payroll: automation of the Dimona flow, management of joint commissions, and merging of monthly salary structures into a single structure.

In other countries of the network, Odoo's standard payroll coverage remains uneven depending on the location, and it differs in Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, or the Caribbean. Before planning a payroll project in Odoo, check the actual status of your country's localization, and ask yourself about the coordination with your current payroll provider.

04Electronic invoicing: each country has its own schedule

Odoo continues its developments country by country, and this is the right approach, as deadlines are not the same everywhere. In Belgium, structured invoicing via Peppol is mandatory between taxable persons since January 1, 2026. In France, receipt is mandatory for all since September 1, 2026, and issuance will be generalized in stages until September 2027. At the European level, the ViDA package sets the deadline of 2030 for intra-community exchanges. Luxembourg and Switzerland, the latter outside the European Union, are following their own trajectory.

For your company, the question to ask your integrator is simple: where does the localization of my country stand in Odoo 20? We provide an update on our page dedicated to electronic invoicing in Odoo.

05New pricing grid: who is affected

Odoo had not changed its prices since 2022. The publisher cites a cumulative inflation of 26% and the increase in hosting, IT, and AI costs.

Offer What is changing
One application onlyStill free
Standard PlanUnchanged rate
Customized PlanIncrease of 20 %
Access "Light User"New, 7.90 EUR per employee, for HR access and certain business applications

The Customized Plan is for companies that use Studio, multi-company, the external API, or Odoo.sh hosting or on-premise (installed on your own servers). These are often the most advanced bases. If you are in this case, two actions before your renewal : identify the users who could switch to Light access, and check that each feature justifying the Customized Plan is still in use. The amounts in Swiss francs and dollars, as well as the effective date, need to be confirmed for your country.

The price increase does not affect everyone. It primarily affects those who have strayed the most from the standard.

06Migrating to Odoo 20? It all depends on your starting point

Odoo maintains the last three major versions. With the release of 20, version 17 will leave support. Here is our recommendation based on your situation.

Your situation Our recommendation
New projectStart directly in Odoo 20, with a margin for fixes in the first weeks
Odoo 19No rush: migrate when a new feature brings measurable gains, such as agents in automations or continuous production
Odoo 18Plan within twelve months, it will leave support at the next version
Odoo 17Priority, it is no longer supported
Odoo 16 and earlierThis is a project, not an update: take the opportunity to sort your specifics, part of which is now covered by the standard

Whatever your case, start by listing your specific modules and compare them to the core redesigns described above. It is this inventory, more than the list of new features, that gives the true size of the project.

07On the Nalios side: three days of exchanges at the booth

For our teams, this edition will primarily be one of conversations. Discussions flowed at booth E4 for three days, and we leave with very interesting contacts. This is also what gives value to the OXP: a version like Odoo 20 is judged on real cases, and nothing replaces a conversation with someone who comes with their own background in mind.

Another highlight of our OXP: the talk by Cédric Vandermeersch, Partner and Head of Sales at Nalios, which was a great success. If you missed it, it is available on video.

What to remember

Four convictions after the Odoo Experience 2026.

01
Odoo 20 is a version of governance as much as of features: an AI that writes in your data rewards well-configured bases and penalizes the others.
02
The cost of a migration depends on the specifics, not on the new features: the closer you stayed to the standard, the lighter the transition.
03
The price increase is targeted: customers of the Customized plan should review their users before their renewal.
04
Payroll and electronic billing remain national issues: an announcement made in Brussels does not automatically apply to Geneva, Luxembourg, or Fort-de-France.

What Odoo 20 changes on your base

Specifics, access rights, pricing plan: our teams, present in each country of the network, can inventory this with you before deciding.

Key questions

Short answers to the questions we were most frequently asked after the OXP.

Odoo 20 was presented on September 24, 2026, during the opening keynote of the Odoo Experience in Brussels. With this release, version 17 is no longer supported.

No. The AI features consume IAP credits, Odoo's integrated paid services. With extensive use of agents, this is a line item to consider in your recurring costs.

Partially. One application remains free and the Standard plan does not change. The Customized plan increases by 20%, and a Light User access is introduced for employees who only use HR and a few business applications.

It depends on your version. A new project starts in 20, a base in 19 can wait, a base in 17 is a priority since it is no longer supported. In any case, the cost mainly depends on your specific developments.
